Tyke Blue Gets Back Down to Business in League Action
Submitted By mbroderick on Sunday, February 17, 2013
After coming off the high of a tournament win in Paisley, Tyke Blue hoped to get back to their winning ways in League action as they visited Osprey in Feversham on Saturday, February 16th.

This Osprey team, with some very strong skaters, proved to be a tough challenge the first time the two teams met, as Blue could only manage a 3-3 tie in that first meeting.  If the first shift were going to be an indication, Blue came out flying in the first shift with many scoring chances and just over a minute in, after a nice pass from Aidan, Dante finished with a hard shot to the right hand corner of the net.  At the 5:37 mark, defenseman, Brody, found a seam up the middle, went for a skate and fired his thirteenth goal of the season home giving Dundalk Blue a 2-0 lead.  Before the period was over Aiden M took a pass off the boards from Aidan B and made no mistake, the period ending with a 3-0 Blue lead.  Blue kept pouring on the offense, in the end winning the game 9-1.
Some of the highlights of the game included: 3 goals and 2 assists from Aiden M, 4 goals for Dante and 5 assists for Aidan B.  More important, is the overall play and passing of players like Amber, who played both forward and defense and added an assist, Wiley who made two sweet passes that ended up in the net, Quentin, who continiues to star on defense, making play after play frustrating the best Osprey players, Wyatt who also had an assist and continues to play where ever he is needed.  Jimmy had another stellar game, scoring a goal and an assist and always has the most energetic goal celebrations, showing true elation when he pots one.  Joshua played one of his most focused games with some extra fans in the stands, he followed the play well and skated hard to help the team win.  In the net, Keegan did not have too many shots early but stood tall when he was needed.  Late in the game, he had to be good as Osprey had two breakaways and some nice chances but Keegan made all five saves late in the game to hold onto a one goal against game.
A very tough part of the schedule is upcoming as Tyke Blue plays Meaford next Saturday, followed by a big game on Sunday against Dundalk Tyke White.  These will be the two toughest teams of the season as these are the three top teams in the division.
